2006-07 (RS Freshman): Starter at 197, recorded a 12-22 NCCA record...Went 2-2 in major decisions and earned one fall...Appeared in 14 dual meets...Placed second at the Cleveland State Open and sixth at the Eastern Michigan Open...Earned first win of the season forcing Ohio State[apos]s Andy Mackenzie to fall in 3:49 at the EMU Open, and tallied an 11-2 major decision victory against Cleveland State[apos]s Benny Balogh...Opened action at the MSU Open with a major decision win over Findlay[apos]s Josh Fox, then took Ohio State[apos]s Jason Cook, 7-3...Won first three matches at the Cleveland State Open, including wins over Gannon[apos]s Jacob Tazzi, Purdue[apos]s Dave Pisarcik and North Carolina[apos]s Justin Dobies...Defeated Indiana[apos]s Nate Everhart 3-2 for first dual win...Also picked up a dual win over Oklahoma[apos]s Josh Hinton, 10-8.

PREP: A high school All-American...went a combined 80-10 his final two years wrestling at 189 as a junior and 215 as a senior...Claimed third place at the Ohio State Championships and sixth at the High School Senior National Championships...Won the conference championship his junior and senior seasons...Took second at the freestyle state championships as a junior...Competed at Fargo Nationals as a junior, going 3-2...Also earned letters in track running sprints and competing in the pole vault, and in football.
