Since its opening in 1996, Michigan State has played games every season at Cooley Law School Stadium (formerly Oldsmobile Park) in Downtown Lansing. The home of the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts, the ballpark blends futuristic design elements with the feel of a traditional stadium.

For the first time in 2007, the Spartans and Lugnuts played in the Crosstown Showdown, an exhibition between the two teams that drew over 6,000 fans to Oldsmobile Park. In 2008, the second annual Crosstown Showdown drew a stadium-record attendance of 12,862.
The $12 million stadium is designed as a community resource that also accommodates concerts and other local events. Features include luxury boxes, patio dining areas, team facilities, press facilities and concessions. After the 2006 season, the park underwent a $3 million dollar renovation. Improvements to the stadium included brand new seats, new paint and lighting on the concourse, and new signage throughout the ballpark.
The 8,000-plus seat facility has 4,000 fixed seats, 2,000 bench seats with backs and an additional 2,000 available seats on the lawn. The state-of-the-art stadium includes 64 handicap seats, ideally located behind home plate and around first and third bases.
Down the lines, it takes a 305-foot stroke to clear the walls, while the distance to center field is 395 feet with the alleys approximately 375 feet away.
The Spartans had the honor of playing Oldsmobile Park's inaugural game on April 3, 1996, before a then-sellout crowd of 7,000 when they went up against intrastate-rival Michigan, two days before the Lugnuts opened their season.
