EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's men's basketball and hockey teams will close out their respective regular-season schedules at home Saturday, March 2. The Spartan men's basketball team plays host to Iowa at 4:30 p.m. in the Breslin Center while the hockey team entertains Ferris State at 7:05 p.m. in Munn Ice Arena. Both games will be televised with ESPN Plus Regional carrying the MSU-Iowa basketball game and Fox Sports Net Detroit broadcasting the MSU-Ferris State hockey game.
In anticipation of Saturday's basketball, hockey doubleheader, the MSU Athletics Department provides fans the following information:
?All parking areas open at 3 p.m. Event parking is $5.
?Shuttle service will be provided from Ramp 5, located south of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building on Red Cedar Rd. Round-trip shuttle bus service is $2. Shuttle service will be provided through the conclusion of the hockey game.
?Parking for persons with disabilities is available in Ramp 5, located south of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building on Red Cedar Rd.
?Hockey season-ticket holders with Lot 63-East (Breslin Center) passes will be directed to Munn Field for parking (weather permitting).
?Hockey fans arriving without parking passes are encouraged to park in Lot 79, located at the south end of Spartan Stadium. If Lot 79 is sold out, additional parking will be available in Lot 56, located east of the football practice fields.
"We make every effort to avoid scheduling conflicts like this," MSU Athletics Director Clarence Underwood said, "but in this case, it's impossible because we're dealing with two different conferences (Big Ten and CCHA) that have separate TV contracts. This situation can occur when you have two highly successful programs that are attractive TV draws.
"I encourage Spartan hockey fans to arrive earlier than normal for Saturday night's game so they don't miss the opening face-off. This promises to be an exciting doubleheader."
