Michigan State will hold a Strength and Speed Camp on Saturday, June 5, 2004, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Duffy Daugherty Football Building. The camp is designed to give each individual athlete a solid foundation in the basic fundamentals of strength training, speed mechanics and agility training. MSU head strength and conditioning coach Ken Mannie and his staff, as well as guest college and high school coaches from around the country, will direct the camp.
MSU's Strength and Speed Camp is open to high school boys and girls participating in any sport from ages 14 to 18 years old. Due to NCAA regulations, graduating seniors may not attend the camp. The cost of the camp is $50 for early registration and $60 for walk-in registration the day of the camp. Coaches may also attend the camp to get a close-up view of "hands-on" coaching of strength training, speed and agility drills for a cost of $30 ($35 for walk-in registration).
For further information or a registration form, contact assistant strength and conditioning coach Mike Vorkapich at 517.432.1822 or vork@ath.msu.edu. Registration forms also can be found on msuspartans.com.
