All Michigan State Athletics Events Cancelled For This Weekend

MSU teams resume action Sept. 21.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State University Athletics Director Dr. Clarence Underwood announced Thursday (Sept. 13) that the Spartan women's golf tournament - the Mary Fossum Invitational - was cancelled for this weekend. The tournament was scheduled, Saturday, Sept. 15-Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Forest Akers West Golf Course.

Several Michigan State teams had road competitions cancelled, including women's volleyball, field hockey, men's golf, men's soccer and women's soccer. The volleyball team was scheduled to participate in a tournament at South Carolina this weekend while the field hockey team was slated to play in the Big Ten-Big East Challenge in Columbus, Ohio. The men's golf team was scheduled to play in the Northern Intercollegiate in Iowa City, Iowa. The men's soccer team scratched its trip to Las Vegas for a tournament and the women's soccer team dropped its game at IUPU-Fort Wayne.
