MSU Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-Big Ten Honors
Fifty-three Spartans among those honored.

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced its 2001 Fall Academic All-Big Ten Conference Team and 53 Spartans were among those honored. To be eligible for the Academic All-Big Ten team, athletes must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
Sophomore women's soccer player Stacy Heller (Madison, Wis.) was one of five Big Ten student-athletes who was recognized for maintaining a 4.00 GPA.
The men's and women's soccer teams led all MSU sports with 13 honorees each, with the men's team landing more players on the squad than any other Big Ten men's soccer team. MSU's football team had eight All-Big Ten academic selections, the most for the program since 1991. Below is a listing of MSU's 2001 Fall Academic All-Big Ten Conference honorees.
