   BRIAN ALLEN | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON ALLEN: "Brian Allen was a tremendous leader throughout his high school career, and that was even further demonstrated when he was elected captain by his teammates at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He is a tough and tireless worker who is extremely competitive and will push our current players for playing time the moment he steps on campus." |
   DAVID BEEDLE | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON BEEDLE: "David is very powerful and athletic for his size. He displayed the attributes and ability in our summer camp to compete in our defense; his explosiveness off the ball was impressive. David comes from a great program and knows how to win, finishing his career as a state champion." |
   ROBERT BOWERS | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON BOWERS: "Robert is very long, athletic and has great closing speed. He has a motor that doesn't quit. He's very disruptive and will help our pass rush by putting pressure on the quarterback." |
   BYRON BULLOUGH | |
![]() ![]() |
   VAYANTE COPELAND | |
![]() DANTONIO ON COPELAND: "Vayante has good size, great speed, outstanding ball skills and tackling ability. When he was here at camp, we noticed that he possessed all of the tools to be a successful cornerback in the Big Ten; he reminds me of Darqueze Dennard. He rarely came off the field for his high school team; he was a return man on special teams in addition to playing defensive back and running back. He also was a state champ in the 400 meters as a junior." |
   DEON DRAKE | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON DRAKE: "Deon is an intense competitor with a nose for the ball; he's a thumper and brings explosive ability to our linebacking corps. He excelled playing both offense and defense in high school and also was a force on special teams. Deon was a physical presence on Detroit Cass Tech's state championship teams." |
   CRAIG EVANS | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON EVANS: "Craig is the No. 1 prospect out of Wisconsin and comes from a very successful high school program. In camp, he showed tremendous athletic ability and great feet for his size. He will compete for immediate playing time and should be a dominant player for us in the trenches during his career at MSU." |
   CHRIS FREY | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON FREY: "Chris excelled at both tailback and outside linebacker in high school. He never came off the football field and was able to take over a game by himself. He has great acceleration and possesses a combination of athleticism and toughness, which is exactly what we're looking for in a linebacker. When he came to camp, you could see his closing speed and the ability to run our defense." |
   CHASE GIANACAKOS | |
![]() DANTONIO ON GIANACAKOS: "Chase is a long, athletic player who has the ability to dominate the line of scrimmage. He grew up all over the world and thus is relatively new to playing football. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and that was evident in our evaluation of him early on." |
   T.J. HARRELL | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON HARRELL: "T.J. was a very highly recruited athlete. He has great athletic ability and is a very versatile player - he was an outstanding tailback in high school as well. He's also a very intelligent football player. T.J. is extremely explosive and could either play safety or outside linebacker for us." |
   JAKE HARTBARGER | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON HARTBARGER: "Jake is a very long and athletic punter who reminds me of Craig Jarrett. He has great leg strength and has the ability to really boom the ball and turn the ball over. Jake is coming into a great situation, as he will have the opportunity to be Mike Sadler's understudy for a year and learn from him before taking over and continuing the great tradition of Michigan State punters." |
   MADRE LONDON | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON LONDON: "Madre is a big, powerful Big Ten running back, but he also has soft hands. He's an extremely productive and electric running back who competed at the highest level in the state of Florida. He runs physical and is tough to tackle in the open-field." |
   MIGUEL MACHADO | |
![]() ![]() |
   MALIK McDOWELL | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON McDOWELL: "Malik McDowell is the top prospect in the state of Michigan and one of the nation's highest-ranked players. He has a very high ceiling as a player for the Spartans. We're very excited about his athleticism, and he's flexible for his size. When he was at camp, he displayed tremendous pass-rushing ability, power, and explosiveness in a small space. He has great length and will be a very dominant player in our defensive front. Malik is an impact player who has the ability to be on the field as a freshman." |
   MATT MORRISSEY | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON MORRISSEY: "Matt has the ability to play at multiple positions and possesses great size and body control. He's a natural pass catcher with a high football IQ. As a team captain, he led his team in receptions and was one of the leading tacklers as a safety. Matt is an outstanding athlete who reminds me of Blair White; he's a very quick jumper. He also is a captain on one of the state's top basketball programs." |
   MONTAE NICHOLSON | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON NICHOLSON: "Montae Nicholson is a complete football player and the No. 1 player in the state of Pennsylvania. He's explosive, powerful and has outstanding ball skills. He's a two-way performer who excelled at both wide receiver and safety, and has shown the athleticism to be a press corner. Montae has the unique ability to come in and be an immediate impact player." |
   GERALD OWENS | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON OWENS: "Gerald Owens is a big, explosive tailback who has great vision and reminds me of T.J. Duckett. He has deceptive speed for a big man and has the ability to break tackles. Gerald is a multi-dimensional player who will fit great into our offensive system." |
   NICK PADLA | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON PADLA: "Toughness and determination define Nick Padla - he never left the field in high school. He's big and athletic with room to grow. His attitude on the football field should fit nicely in our offensive line room." |
   CASEY SCHREINER | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON SCHREINER: "Casey had a great senior year playing for an outstanding coach in Jeff Metheny at Bethel Park High School. He had an excellent camp for us this past summer and is an extremely hard worker. We're looking forward to seeing his development on the offensive line." |
   MATT SOKOL | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON SOKOL: "Matt Sokol had a great high school career while playing multiple positions, but he'll focus on tight end for the Spartans. He's a very athletic and long body that can make plays in space. He has natural ball skills and the ability to run away from defenders. As a former quarterback in high school, he has a great understanding of offensive concepts." |
   ENOCH SMITH JR. | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON SMITH JR.: "Enoch Smith has impressive athletic traits and possesses a high motor. We had him in camp and noticed he was very strong at the point of attack. We feel Enoch has the ability to be a disruptive three-technique in our defensive front. He comes from a great high school program in Mount Carmel, led by Frank Lenti. Enoch is a self-motivated, high character individual who will reach his goals both academically and athletically. He will be a light in the community." |
   MONTEZ SWEAT | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON SWEAT: "Montez Sweat will compete as a defensive end when he gets to campus. He has an excellent frame at 6-6 and will be a force on the edge for us. He's extremely athletic for his size and quick-bodied in short space. Montez is a versatile two-way player who excelled at the highest level of football in the state of Georgia." |
   JALEN WATTS-JACKSON | |
![]() ![]() DANTONIO ON WATTS-JACKSON: "Jalen Watts-Jackson is another signee we had the opportunity to evaluate in our senior camp as a cornerback. He's very explosive, athletic, and displayed great change of direction in camp in a dominant performance. He also has very natural ball skills as a wide receiver. As a starter on the basketball team, you can see the attributes he has to be a very successful cover corner in our defense." |
