Michigan State Drops Doubleheader to Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. - Michigan State dropped both games of a doubleheader to Wisconsin Saturday, 3-1 and 2-0.
Badger shortstop Julie Borchard's three-run home run in the fourth inning of game one gave Wisconsin its first of two wins on the day.
Spartan pitcher Stacey Smith pitched six innings, allowing three hits and three runs, while striking out five.
Badger pitcher Ashley Fauser pitched seven innings, allowing five hits, one run, and striking out seven.
In game two, two Wisconsin pitchers combined for a shutout.
After the doubleheader, Wisconsin moved to 10-12 on the season, while Michigan State dropped to 13-9.
The Spartans will next play May 6 against Kent State in Grand Rapids, Mich.
