"Being Spartan Green" on game day doesn’t just mean cheering on the Spartans. It means keeping our campus clean by rethinking how we tailgate, reducing waste, and recycling. By planning ahead and taking advantage of the many recycling opportunities on campus – including expanded opportunities on game day – you can have fun, enjoy good food and friends, and watch the points keep growing!

Recycling INSIDE Spartan Stadium
- Recycling containers are located in the stadium concourse and upper levels. Please recycle the following:
- Plastic - water bottles and souvenir cups
- Aluminum - beverage containers
- Boxboard - popcorn boxes
- Cardboard - Food trays
- Paper - cups and programs
- NOTE: Please dispose of food waste, such as leftover popcorn, before recycling
Recycling OUTSIDE Spartan Stadium
- Several recycling and trash containers are located at entrance gates outside of the stadium. Please recycle or dispose of prohibited items before entering (Prohibited items are listed here).
TAILGATE Recycling
- Have pride on game day. Help keep our home clean! Pack up your waste, including mini-propane tanks – these can be dangerous when not disposed of properly. Recyclables can be taken to the university’s public recycling drop off center located at 468 Green Way just south of the intersection of Service and Farm Lane.
