Education: Hosler received a B.S. in Exercise Science from Western Michigan in 2003 and an M.S. in Kinesiology from Michigan State in 2005.
Job Responsibilities: Hosler is the Athletic Trainer for the Ice Hockey team.
Past Experience: Before Michigan State, Hosler was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Nashville Predators in the NHL.
Andy Hosler joined Michigan State University in July 2021 and serves as the hockey team's athletic trainer. Hosler, who earned his master’s from Michigan State, returned to East Lansing after 14 years with the Nashville Predators, including serving as the organization’s head athletic trainer for the last eight seasons.
Hosler has been a certified athletic trainer for the last 18 years, 16 of which have been spent in professional hockey.
In his role as head athletic trainer with the Predators, Hosler managed the health and rehab of players throughout the Nashville organization. He served as Nashville’s assistant athletic trainer for six seasons from 2007-13 before assuming the head role in the 2013-14 campaign.
Prior to joining the Predators, the Monroe, Mich., native spent two seasons as the head athletic trainer for the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies. Hosler earned a master’s degree in kinesiology at Michigan State while serving as a graduate assistant, working with the Spartan wrestling and football teams during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. Hosler earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, working across the athletic department spectrum from gymnastics to football.
Hosler is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and certified Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. He also holds a membership through the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainer’s Society.
Hosler and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons, Henry and Fritz.
