At Michigan State, Baldwin has headed the publicity efforts for teams which won a national championship (hockey), advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in both volleyball and men’s soccer, and won Big Ten titles in hockey, soccer and rowing. She has spearheaded successful campaigns for All-Americans, Academic All-Americans, national award winners, and helped promote several coaches and staff members inducted into halls of fame, winning major awards, and reaching career milestones.
Evolving with the profession’s continual changes in technology and social media, Baldwin currently oversees all publicity and social media efforts for the Spartan hockey program, a role she also held from 2006-13. In her years at Michigan State, she at one time or another has led media relations efforts for hockey, volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, gymnastics, swimming & diving, softball, and rowing.
Baldwin joined the Michigan State staff in January 2006 after nearly eight years at Harvard University. While at Harvard, she helped handle media and public relations for the nation’s largest Division I athletic program, which at the time boasted 41 varsity sports. Over her seven-plus years, she publicized student-athlete achievements in the sports of women’s basketball, hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s rowing, men’s and women’s lacrosse, cross country and track and field, fencing, and water polo. She had the opportunity to promote national champions in track and field and multiple team national championships in both men’s and women’s rowing.
Baldwin has spent more than 25 years in collegiate athletics in both Division III and Division I institutions. A 1995 graduate of State University of New York at Brockport, she earned a degree in Communications/Public Relations with a concentration in Sports Management. After her graduation, she interned at Union College, St. Lawrence University and the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (now the Liberty League).
An active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, she was the 2007 recipient of the Rising Star Award, and in 2013 was the winner of the Bob Kenworthy Community Service Award.
