One of the greatest players that has ever come through Michigan State, Hansen was a 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America selection as a senior, and was a two-time All-Big Ten selection ( 2010 and 2011). She holds the school's single-season home run record and career-home run records, established during her senior year with 20 and 42, respectively. Hansen is one of just four players in program history to hit .400, or better, as she posted an average of .404 as a senior. Her 56 RBIs and 53 runs scored are both MSU's single season records, while her 31 extra-base hits were tied for second. Not only did Hansen get it done at the plate, but also led the conference in the field with 145 assists at shortstop as a senior, while recording 23 stolen bases on 24 attempts, ranking tied for fourth all-time in program history for a single-season performance. Her 18 consecutive stolen bases remains the fourth-longest streak in school history. Nationally, Hansen ended the regular season fifth in home runs (20), sixth in slugging (.891), seventh in homers a game (0.37) and 14th in triples (five).
