Madi Glatz enters her first season as a volunteer coach with the Spartans. Glatz graduated from Michigan State in 2018 with a degree in kinesiology and was a two year member of the Spartan Rowing team.
 
Glatz competed in the second varsity four at the 2018 B1G Championships and in the first novice eight in 2017.
2017: A 2017 Academic All-Big Ten Selection ... Opened the season in the second novice eight at the Oak Ridge Cardinal, finishing second to Notre Dame in a time of 7:09.409 and ahead of Kansas and Tennessee (3/11) ... On Sunday at Oak Ridge (3/12), was third behind Virginia and the Spartan novice eight, clocked in a time of 7:23.320, an open --water margin over fourth-place Tennessee ... Rowed in a pair of second novice eight races at Michigan (3/25), finishing the morning heat second behind Ohio State by less than a half a second, as OSU was clocked in 7:35.94 and MSU just 0.44 seconds back in 7:36.36. Michigan was open water behind the two other crews, ... In the afternoon, the Spartans recorded a heat-winning time of 7:31.94, open water over the rest of the field -- the Buckeyes timed in at 7:42.09, and Michigan about a half a length back in a time of 7:44.49 ...In a Big Ten Double Dual at Indiana (4/1), raced Iowa twice; the morning session was timed as a 7:15.18 pace for the Spartans, and MSU increased the margin to more than 14 seconds in the afternoon session (7:19.30), with Iowa behind in a time of 7:33.72 ... Hosting a Big Ten Double Dual on Lake Ovid (4/8), twice raced in three- boat affairs against No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 3 Michigan; in the morning, finished third (7:23.34) - just six-tenths back of second-place Michigan (7:22.74) -- and in the afternoon, MSU was third in a time of 7:26.75, just under six seconds behind the Wolverines (7:21.32) and almost 15 behind Wisconsin (7.11.85) ... In the novice eight, raced twice on the Charles River in Cambridge, Mass. (4/22-23) against several Boston-area crews. In the Saturday race, posted a time of 7:28.862, bested by Northeastern (7:13.269) but holding an open-water lead at the finish over UMass (7:52.381). The Spartans and Huskies were in a dogfight as they made their way down the course, but the Spartans caught a crab ... Fell to Radcliffe (7:04.3) in the Sunday race, with MSU second in 7:13.0. Boston College had two entries in the event, which finished in 7:27.2 and 7:31.7... Had a rough day in the novice eight at the Big Ten Championships (5/14), as the Spartans caught an ejection crab in the final 500 that dictated an eighth-place finish.

Hobbies include running and cooking... Majoring in kinesiology and aspires to be a physician's assistant.
