- Assistant Coach
Alex Wright was named an assistant coach for Michigan State gymnastics in June 2026.
Wright arrives in East Lansing with over 15 years of coaching experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and most recently spent the past year coaching at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) Gymnastics. Â
At WOGA, Wright led training cycles and provided technical development for HOPES, junior elite and elite pathway gymnasts, as well as athletes in levels 8, 9 and 10, while also supporting NCAA recruitment. Prior to WOGA, Wright coached levels 3, 4, 5 and XCEL athletes and assisted in coaching levels 8, 9, and 10 and elite pathway athletes at Texas Dreams Gymnastics for seven years.Â
He also spent time at ASI Gymnastics as the men’s program coordinator and was a middle and high school gymnastics coach in the Birdville Independent School District in North Richland Hills, Texas. Â
Wright is a former National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and specialized in strength and conditioning as well as injury prevention and mobility training while coaching on the club scene. Â
In addition to his coaching resume, Wright has served as an Army Reservist since 2020.Â
Wright graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences in Organizational Leadership. Â
