Dustin Smith is in his first season as the Director of Football Technology for the Michigan State football program. Smith has worked in football technology professionally for a total of 11 years, including both the college and NFL levels.
Smith arrived to MSU in June 2025 after serving as the video coordinator at Eastern Michigan for the 2024 season. He previously was the video director at Indiana from February 2020 to August 2022 and at Oregon from July 2017 to February 2020.
Before breaking into the college ranks, Smith was a video assistant from March 2014 to July 2017 with the Cleveland Browns. He was also a video intern for the Indianapolis Colts (2013-14) and the San Francisco 49ers (2012-13).Â
Smith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication from Purdue in 2012.
