Eric Reinke

Eric Reinke was named Executive Senior Associate AD/Chief Business Officer for Michigan State Athletics in November 2026.
Reinke oversees business operations and manages the financial strategy of the department. This includes implementation of all departmental budgetary policies, while also developing and managing short and long-term financial strategies, operational and capital budgets, sustainable forecasting processes and financial performance. Through identifying trends and opportunities, Reinke is part of a collaborative process to optimize profitability, organizational efficiency and revenue growth.
Reinke came to Michigan State from the University of Maryland, where he served as Senior Associate AD, Business Operations/Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all aspects of the athletic department's fiscal operations, including budget management, financial reporting and long-term strategic planning. His responsibilities included monthly and annual reporting along with departmental forecasting and budgeting.
As a member of Maryland's athletics department executive team, Reinke played a key role in their strategic planning and financial execution for the transition into the revenue sharing era of college athletics. He also served as the department liaison to the university finance, budget, controller and procurement offices at Maryland, building strong relationships with units across campus. Reinke has extensive experience working closely with coaches and administrative staff to allocate resources in alignment with strategic goals. Beyond his financial focus, he served as the Terrapin sport administrator for women's cross country and the men's and women's track & field programs.
Prior to his arrival in College Park, Reinke worked at Towson University where he served as Director of Business Operations. His career also includes stints in the athletic department at the University of Florida and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A native of Tampa, Florida, Reinke owns a pair of degrees from the University of Florida, graduating in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in finance and a minor in mass communication before earning his master's degree in sports management in 2007. His family includes his wife, Kelly, and two sons.
