Jael Funte joined the Michigan State athletic training staff with the football program in 2023.
Funte spent the previous two years at Youngstown State as a staff athletic trainer working primarily with the Penguins’ football team.
Prior to Youngstown State, Funte worked at Slippery Rock providing care for The Rock’s football, volleyball, and track & field programs. Funte also has experience working at Oil Valley Physical Therapy as an athletic trainer for Titusville Area School District.
Funte received her bachelor of science in athletic training from Slippery Rock in 2016. She went on to earn her master of public health from Slippery Rock University in 2019.
Funte’s professional interests include customization of functional rehab, assessing injury prevention strategies, and the management of concussions.
