"As college athletics continues to evolve, there's an increasing importance placed on identifying new revenue streams and finding opportunities to build predictable revenue growth," said Batt. "At the start of this process I said the ideal candidate would be someone who wakes up every morning laser focused on how Michigan State can generate revenue. Without question, Jared Kozinn is that person.Â
"Jared has a wide breadth of experience across multiple professional organizations, where he demonstrated the innovation and strategic approach necessary to maximize revenue opportunities. We look forward to him leading the effort to develop and implement a comprehensive revenue growth strategy for Spartan athletics, positioning the department at the leading edge of the industry."Â
"I am honored to join Michigan State Athletics as Deputy AD, Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer," said Kozinn. "Michigan State's tradition, energy and excellence inspire me, and I am grateful to J Batt for the opportunity to be part of his leadership team. Together with President Guskiewicz, our coaches, staff, student-athletes, fans, and alumni, we will build on the momentum already underway and create innovative revenue and marketing strategies that elevate the Spartan experience and position Michigan State Athletics for long-term success. I can't wait to get started and to work alongside such an exceptional team."Â
Kozinn comes to Michigan State from the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he served as the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Premium & Events. In this senior leadership role, he oversaw sales, activation and event operations, while developing and enhancing relationships with current and prospective partners. Kozinn created and executed the strategic plan for maximizing corporate partnership, premium & event revenue through a multitude of diverse and innovative sales, marketing and activation strategies.Â
"Jared is an exceptional leader and teammate," said Travis Williams, Pittsburgh Pirates President. "The Pirates will certainly miss him. Michigan State will be well served by his ability to genuinely build relationships with partners and fans, as well as creatively drive revenue growth. These skills will be critical with the changing landscape of college athletics."Â
"Through his leadership, Jared and the team have exceeded revenue goals by focusing on building relationships, innovation, and data driven solutions for our partners," said David Burke, Pittsburgh Pirates Executive Vice President, Sales & Business Development. "Jared has been a tremendous asset for our organization, and we know he will continue to be successful at Michigan State. We wish him nothing but the best as he pursues this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."Â
Prior to working with the Pirates, Kozinn was Head of Sports Partnerships at Dansons, Inc., a global consumer goods corporation. At Dansons, he oversaw all sports marketing investment strategy and negotiations, including but not limited to sports franchises, media influencer marketing, agency evaluations and partnership analytics. Â

With the Arizona Coyotes Hockey Club, he served as Executive Vice President of Corporate & Premium Partnerships. He spent six years with the Detroit Lions, rising to Executive Director of Business Development and Premium Partnerships, while seeing significant increases in both ticket sales and suite revenue. Â
He has also held various other corporate partnerships, premium and ticketing leadership roles for organizations in Major League Baseball, the National Football League and the National Hockey League, including stints with the Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Blues. Â
