Ryan Marsom joined the Spartan football equipment staff in July 2021. He spent the previous two years as the athletic equipment manager at Wayne State.

Marsom also has NFL experience, serving as an equipment assistant for the Detroit Lions in 2017 and 2018 before going to Wayne State. In addition, he worked for the Dolphins as an equipment staff assistant from July 2014 to March 2016. In between his NFL jobs, he worked as a football equipment intern at Michigan State for one year (May 2016-April 2017).

A graduate of Florida International University in August of 2015, Marsom worked on the equipment staff in various roles during his time at FIU. He also volunteered with the staff as a high school student from 2008 to 2011.

Marsom has been a member of the Athletic Equipment Manager’s Association (AEMA) since 2012 and has been a certified athletic equipment manager since 2016. He received the AEMA Jimmy Callaway Scholarship Award in 2014.

Marsom lives in Royal Oak, Michigan, with his fiancé, Katrina, and son, Greyson (2 year old).
