Sarah Burnham

Sarah Burnham, the most decorated golfer in Michigan State women's golf history, joined the Spartan staff as an undergraduate volunteer assistant coach in August 2018. Burnham is a three-time All-American, two-time Big Ten Player of the Year and two-time George Alderton MSU Female Athlete of the Year. She also is the school record holder in career average (72.92) and owns three of the top-five season averages in program history, including a school record 70.68 set in 2017-18.
The native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, helped the Spartans to their second straight Big Ten title as a senior in 2017-18. While doing so, she became the first Spartan golfer to win the Big Ten's Mary Fossum Award, which goes to the player in the conference with the lowest stroke average to par (-1.21).
Burnham had more career rounds in the 60s (19) than any other Spartan, including recording the lowest round in program history and fifth-lowest in NCAA history -- 63 -- at the 2017 Big Ten Championships. She had 14 career top-five finishes and finished in the top 10 in 26 of her 45 career tournaments. Burnham won three tournament wins in her career and twice was the runner-up at the Big Ten Championships.
