SPARTAN POST-GAME NOTES

, MSU has defeated Ohio State in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1987 and 1988.
, Michigan State allowed zero yards rushing, the best single-game rushing defensive performance under Nick Saban. The Spartans have held three opponents to less than 10 yards rushing this season and seven of nine to less than 100 yards.
, Ohio State had just 79 total yards in offense, the fewest yards allowed by the Spartans this season.
, The Spartan defense yielded just four first downs, good for a fourth-place tie (4 by Michigan in 1951) on the MSU single-game chart. The 1944 MSU team allowed just one first down to Maryland, while Wayne State managed just three first downs against MSU in 1945 and 1944.
, MSU has now beaten Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State in the same season for the first time since 1965. The Spartans went on to finish 10-1 that season, capture a Big Ten title and a National Championship.

, Bill Burke caught a seven-yard pass from Plaxico Burress in the first quarter for his second career reception. Both catches have come against Ohio State. Last season, Burke caught a six-yarder from tailback Sedrick Irvin.
, Gari Scott's 50 receiving yards give him 2,030 in his career, making him only the fifth Spartan receiver to surpass the 2,000 yard mark.
, Scott's three receptions give him 128 in his career, moving him into third-place on the MSU career receptions list.
