MSU Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-Big Ten Honors

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Big Ten has announced its Academic All-Big Ten teams for winter sports and 27 Michigan State student-athletes are among the honorees. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten recognition, a student-athlete must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year at the institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
The MSU women's swimming and diving team led all Spartan squads with 11 honorees. Sophomore gymnast Troy Takagishi (East Lansing) is one of four student-athletes in the Big Ten to enter the spring semester with a perfect 4.00 GPA.
