EAST LANSING, Mich. - Senior left wing Bryan Adams (Fort St. James, B.C.) had the most productive weekend of his career and was rewarded for his efforts with the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week Award.
Adams' linemate, freshman right wing Adam Hall (Kalamazoo, Mich.), was named the league's Rookie of the Week.
Adams had four goals and two assists (six points) in Michigan State's two games over the weekend (a 7-1 win over Bowling Green Friday and a 4-4 tie with Ohio State Saturday). He had a goal and two assists Friday night before exploding for his first career hat trick Saturday. Adams, who had never had more than one goal in a game before, now leads the Spartans in scoring with 4-2-6 totals through four games.
Hall recorded his first collegiate goal in the second period Friday night - the eventual game-winner - and followed it up with a third-period goal. He added an assist for a career-best three points in the game and was +4 for the weekend. Hall stands third on the MSU team in scoring with 2-2-4 totals and is currently ranked No. 14 among 1999 NHL Draft prospects by Red Line Report.
Michigan State (2-0-2 overall, 1-0-2 CCHA) returns to action Friday at Munn Ice Arena at 7 p.m. against Northern Michigan (6-0-0, 2-0-0). The game will be televised on FOX Sports Detroit.
