? Gari Scott also returned four punts for 96 yards. His 51-yard return in the second quarter was a career best.
? QB Bill Burke?s 17-yard touchdown pass to Chris Baker in the first quarter marked the sixth consecutive game in which he has thrown at least one touchdown pass.

? FB Dawan Moss scored a touchdown on a 42-yard run in the second quarter. Not only was it his first career carry, but it also marked the first time that a Michigan State fullback scored a rushing touchdown since Travis Reece scored on a 1-yard run against Michigan in the fourth quarter, Nov. 2, 1996.
? DB Lorenzo Guess returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. It was his first career interception and touchdown.
? QB Arron Agler?s 8-yard touchdown pass to Ivory McCoy was the first TD pass of his career. Today marked the first career appearance for Agler, a red-shirt freshman.
? Eastern Michigan punter Nick Arondet set a new Michigan State opponent record for most punts in a game with 16. The 16 punts also set an opponent team record.
? Michigan State?s defense held Eastern Michigan without a first down until the 10:15 mark of the second quarter. Eastern Michigan finished with only seven first downs.
? Michigan State?s 51 points were the most scored by a Spartan offense since a Sept. 13, 1997 51-21 win over Memphis.
? MSU?s 44-point win is its largest margin of victory since the 47-0 shutout of Eastern Michigan on Sept. 28, 1996.
? Michigan State opens the season 2-0 for just the second time since 1983 (also in 1997, when MSU went 5-0 to start the year).
