Michigan State Crew Hosts Head Of The Grand

East Lansing, Mich. - The Michigan State women's crew hosted its first home event of the 2000-2001 season on Sat., October 14. The Spartans competed against Notre Dame in the Head of the Grand at Grand River Park.
Michigan State won both Varsity races. In the Varsity Eight, the MSU A boat was victorious by over 20 seconds, coming in with a time of 10:41. The Spartans took first (MSU A - 12:21), second (MSU B - 12:27) and third (MSU C - 12:42) place in Varsity Four competition.
In Novice competition, the Michigan State A crew finished second in the A-Flight with a time of 12:32.
Michigan State will take next weekend off, and return to action on Sat., Oct. 28 at the Head of the Schuylkill, in Philadelphia, Pa. MSU will also compete on Sun., Oct. 29 at the Princeton Chase in Princeton N.J. The Princeton Chase will wrap up the Spartans' fall schedule.
