Jane McIntosh Named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State junior Jane McIntosh (Concord, Mich.) was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on March 15.

McIntosh, who has been competing with a broken index finger, was honored for her performance against UCLA on March 11, when she earned first-place finishes on the both the balance beam (9.925) and the floor, where she finished with a career-high tying 9.900. Earlier this season, McIntosh tied Carolyn Hecht's school record on the balance beam, with a 9.950 at the Spartan Invitational on Feb. 24. She is currently ranked 11th in the nation on the beam with a Regional Qualifying Score of 9.885.

McIntosh will lead Michigan State in its final home meet of the season this weekend. The Spartans will take on the Missouri Tigers on Sat., March 17, at 7 p.m. in the Jenison Field House.
