Smith Earns Three NCAA Gymnastics All-America Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas – Michigan State senior gymnast Nikki Smith earned a trio of All-America honors at the 2026 NCAA Gymnastics Championships, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced Friday morning.Â
Smith was recognized as a First Team All-American on beam and in the all-around, becoming the first gymnast in program history to earn first-team All-America honors at the NCAA Championships on beam and first MSU gymnast to ever earn postseason All-America honors in the all-around. Smith also collected a second-team nod on floor.Â
NCAA All-America awards are given to the top eight finishers in each semifinal session of the NCAA Championships. First team honors are awarded to places one through four, while five through eight receive second team nods.  Â
The West Bloomfield, Michigan, native put together a spectacular final collegiate performance in the all-around in the first semifinal of Thursday's NCAA Championships, finishing in a tie for fourth place in the session with a 39.475. She scored a 9.850 on vault and 9.7875 on bars before closing the meet out with a 9.925 on beam to tie for fourth in the session on the event and a 9.9125 on floor to tie for sixth. Smith finished eighth overall in the semifinals in the all-around for a podium finish.Â
Smith becomes the first Spartan gymnast to earn three NCAA All-America honors in the same meet. She concludes her career as a program-record seven-time All-American, earning regular-season recognition on vault in 2024 and 2025 and on floor and in the all-around this season to go along with Friday's trio of honors.Â
