Michigan State Rows Against Michigan On Lake Ovid

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's crew raced against the University of Michigan at the Spartans' spring course at Lake Ovid (Sleepy Hollow State Park) on Saturday, April 7. Michigan swept all six races against the Spartans.
In the varsity eight competition, Michigan State did not finish the race after seat three caught a crab (the oar was stuck in the water) and was ejected out of the boat.
In the 2nd varsity eight, Michigan was almost nine seconds faster than the Spartans, finishing with a time of 6:40.6. MSU finished with a time of 6:49.3
In the varsity four race, Michigan won with a time of 7:22.6 while Michigan State finished the race with a time of 7:35.8.
Both Michigan and Michigan State had two boats entered in the 2nd varsity four. Michigan A won the race with a time of 7:39.6 while Michigan State A finished second in 7:54.4
Michigan State will return to action next weekend against Ohio State, USC and Michigan in Columbus, Ohio on April 14.
