EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior tailback Dawan Moss has been dismissed from the football team, head coach Bobby Williams announced Sunday, Nov. 3.
"Dawan Moss has been dismissed from the team following his arrest this weekend," Williams said. "This type of behavior will not be tolerated in this football program, regardless of the player's status. I'm disappointed in Dawan's actions because he was seen as one of our team leaders."
Moss, who started the first nine games at tailback in 2002, paced the Spartan ground attack with 592 rushing yards (125 carries) and four rushing touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 236-pound Detroit native posted two 100-yard rushing games, including a career-high 191 yards against Northwestern. Moss rushed for 136 yards and two scores in the season opener against Eastern Michigan.
