COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 9 Missouri won eight of ten matches as the Tigers defeated the No. 20 Michigan State wrestling team, 30-6, Sunday night (Feb. 10) at the Hearnes Center. MSU falls to 4-8 on the season, while MU improves to 13-2.
Missouri controlled the entire match as it won the first four bouts, beginning at 141 pounds, to open up a 12-0 lead. Rashad Evans (Jr., Niagara Falls, N.Y.) scored the first points for MSU as he beat John Kopnisky, 5-4, in the 174-pound match.
Chris Williams (Sr., Perry) defeated Mark Bader, 5-1, for MSU's other win of the night at 125 pounds. The win marked Williams' 95th career victory, which moves him into a tie for 13th-place all-time at Michigan State.
MSU returns to action Friday, Feb. 15, as it hosts Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. in Jenison Field House.
