Wrestling Preps for Big Ten Wrestling Championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Ten members of the Michigan State wrestling program are set to compete at the Big Ten Championships this weekend, March 7-8, in State College, Pa. Action on Saturday morning gets under way at 10:00 a.m. Matches will be broadcast on both Big Ten Network and B1G+.

Saturday, March 7
10:00 AM – Session I (First Round, Quarterfinals, Wrestlebacks) - BTN
5:00 PM – Session II (Consolation Matches, Wrestlebacks) – B1G+
7:00 PM – Session II (Semifinals) - BTN
Sunday, March 8
12:00 PM – Session III (Consolation Matches, 7th-Place Matches) – B1G+
4:30 PM – Session IV (1st-, 3rd- and 5th-Place Matches) – BTN
Competitors at the Big Ten Championships are vying for 87 automatic NCAA Tournament berths, allocated by the NCAA. The Big Ten received nine automatic qualifiers at 125 pounds, eight at 133, seven at 141, nine at 149, eight at 157, nine at 165, 10 at 174, eight at 184, 10 at 197 and nine at heavyweight.
Wrestlers that do not earn an automatic bid still have an opportunity to be drawn into the national tournament via an at-large bid.
