Men's Soccer Set To Kick Off 2002 Season

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's soccer team will open the 2002 season when they host the MSU/Radisson Soccer Classic. The Spartans will play host to Wright State, Sunday, Sept. 1, at 2:30 pm. Prior to that, Michigan will face UC Santa Barbara at 12 noon. Monday, MSU will face UC Santa Barbara at 12 noon, while Michigan will play Wright State at 2:30 pm. All games will take place at Old College Field.

The Spartans return their top four scorers from a 2001 team that made the school's first NCAA appearance since 1969 and compiled a 13-6-1 overall mark. The 2002 team is ranked No. 22 in College Soccer News.com's pre-season poll.
