The Spartans Online Student-Athletes of the Week, for Oct. 25, are Lauren Zacharski from women's soccer and Ian Clutten from men's swimming, as selected by the MSU Sports Information Staff.
Lauren Zacharski scored her third goal of the season on Saturday (Oct. 22) vs. Michigan. The goal was assisted by Nina Mastracci and gave the Spartans a 2-0 advantage over the Wolverines. Zacharski also picked up an assist on the first goal of the game. MSU won the game 3-2.
The Green and White also won on Sunday (Oct. 24) vs. Eastern Michigan, 1-0. The soccer team has there last regular-season game this Saturday (Oct. 30) at Old College Field vs. Akron.

One thing you have learned from playing soccer at State: Just to go out, have fun and play with heart.
What are you looking forward to in the off season? Well, since I am a senior, I am done. I am looking forward to being a real person and not having sports in my life, but I know I am going to miss it at the same time.
What is the scariest thing that has every happened to you? I have really wacky dreams about clowns all the time and I hate clowns.
What is the best costume you have ever worn? My brother and I were Raggedy Ann and Andy when I was two and my brother was four.
Something you wish you did more of: Enjoy life and soccer because now soccer is over for me.
Favorite vacation spot: Somewhere warm with beaches.

On Oct 10, Clutten placed 22nd in the world in the 50 breast during the FINA Short Course World Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
The men's swim team next competes on Saturday, Oct. 30 vs. Iowa at the Charles McCaffre, located in IM West Building on MSU's campus.

Why MSU?: MSU has a very good swimming program and I wanted to swim in the Big Ten Conference.
What is the biggest difference between living in the U.S. and South Africa? Swimming wise, there is so much support and team spirit here. In South Africa, it's more of an individual sport, where here it is more team.
Do people in Capetown celebrate Halloween? Not really. It was a real surprise when I came here and saw how seriously Americans take it.
Which are better cameral apples or candy corn? Cameral apples
Favorite month: August, it's my birthday month. Plus that is when I get to come back to school.
One thing you want to do before you turn 30: Travel to every continent. How many have you already been to? Three - North America, Europe, and Africa.
How old were you when you started swimming? I started double practices year around when I was 11. I started training when I was seven.
