Undefeated Spartans Prepare to Face Dayton

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's soccer team will put their undefeated record on the line Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at Old College Field against the Dayton Flyers (0-1-1).
The Spartans (3-0-0) are coming off an MSU/Radisson Soccer Classic Tournament championship last weekend (Sept. 4-5), when they defeated Western Illinois, 3-0, and St. Francis (Pa.), 4-2. MSU opened its season September 1, defeating Bowling Green, 3-0.
Dayton participated in The Big Toe Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin, last weekend. The Flyers drew a 0-0 tie against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, then dropped their second game 4-1 to Wisconsin.
Michigan State will be led by senior attacker Jordan Gruber (Beverly Hills) who has two game winning goals in three games for 4-2-10 totals. Just below Gruber at the top of the scoring is returning first team All-Big Ten selection John Minagawa-Webster (Sr., F, Monroe). Joining the Spartan attack is Minagawa-Webster's younger brother freshman forward Kenzo Webster (Monroe), who netted the first goal of his MSU career against St. Francis (Pa.).
State's starting goaltender Jason Tillman (So., Brighton) is yet to face a shot in 167:26 of action.
Following the Dayton match, the Spartans will head west for two games, one against San Diego State (Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. EDT) and one against San Diego (Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m. EDT), before coming back to East Lansing to open the Big Ten season on Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at Old College Field against the defending National Champions, Indiana.
