Minagawa-Webster Selected In Fourth Round Of MLS Draft

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer forward John Minagawa-Webster (Monroe, Mich.) was selected with the 11th pick in the fourth round (47th pick overall) of the MLS SuperDraft by the Kansas City Wizards on Friday, Jan. 14 in Baltimore, Md. He becomes the first Spartan selected in the 10-year history of the draft.
In 2004, Minagawa-Webster ranked second on the team in goals (9) and points (27) and tied for the team lead with nine assists. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, he finished his career with 25 goals, 17 assists and 67 points.
The Wizards finished 2004 with a 14-9-7 record and advanced to the MLS Cup, where they lost to DC United, 3-2.
