With the 35-24 win over MSU, Ohio State now leads the overall series, 24-12...the Buckeyes have won four straight over the Spartans...the Buckeyes lead the series in Columbus, 13-7.
Junior quarterback Drew Stanton was 26-for-36 passing for 340 yards and one touchdown...the 340 yards are a career best for Stanton and the third-best effort for a Spartan quarterback against Ohio State...it marked Stanton's fifth career 300-yard passing game, and third this season...it marked his seventh-straight game passing for at least 200 yards...his 26 completions and 36 attempts are both season bests.
The Michigan State offense racked up 456 yards of total offense, including 340 through the air...it's the most total yards Ohio State has allowed this season (previous: 382 yards by Texas)...Ohio State entered the game fourth in the nation in total defense (238 ypg) and 29th in pass efficiency defense (111 ypg).
Freshman running back Javon Ringer carried the ball a season-high 16 times for 76 yards.
Junior wide receiver Jerramy Scott notched a career-best 129 yards receiving and tied his career high with seven catches...he caught a 36-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Senior wide receiver Kyle Brown caught a career-best seven passes for 75 yards.
The Spartans dominated the time of possession, holding the ball for 40:59, while the Buckeyes had it for 19:01...the Spartans held the ball for 21:50 in the first half compared to 8:10 for Ohio State.
Michigan State collected 27 first downs compared to Ohio State's 13.
Michigan State scored its first 10 points of the game on Ohio State turnovers...with 8:30 left in the first quarter, Michael Bazemore recovered a fumble at the MSU 40, which led to a 32-yard field goal by John Goss, his career best, with 6:02 left in the first to put MSU up 3-0...on the ensuing kickoff, Ohio State fumbled the ball and Otis Wiley recovered at the OSU 4, which led to a Jehuu Caulcrick 3-yard score...it mark Caulcrick's fifth rushing touchdown of the season, a team high.
Stanton connected on a 36-yard strike to Scott at the 6:30 mark in the second quarter...the 36-yard catch tied a career long for Scott, and it's his longest career touchdown grab...the play capped a 12-play, 84-yard drive for Michigan State...it tied the longest drive the Ohio State defense has given up this season (OSU also gave up an 84-yard drive to Texas)...another key play on the drive came on 4th-and-1 at the OSU 38, as Stanton threw a 7-yard pass to Kellen Davis for the first-down conversion.
Jason Teague capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive with a 6-yard touchdown at the 4:53 mark in the third quarter...it was the Spartans' second scoring drive of at least 80 yards in the game, a first for an Ohio State opponent this season.
Ohio State fumbled the ball six times in the game and lost four. Diego Oquendo, Clifton Ryan, Bazemore and Wiley all recovered fumbles for MSU...Bazemore also forced a fumble, along with Brandon Fields and SirDarean Adams.
