Michigan State Head Coach Rick Comley
Opening statement...
"I thought we played better tonight than last night. Last night was really a struggle and I thought the kids worked hard tonight. We still were very sluggish, and we had some people really struggle. I thought (Jeff) Lerg played well for us in goal. It was a weird kind of game with a lot of long chips and flips. But again, I thought the kids worked hard."
On the team's inability to sustain momentum after fast starts...
"We've scored quickly the last three games, and we haven't been able to get that second one in. It's funny because sometimes you play well and are confident, and sometimes you don't. It's been a good stretch for us, and then we've had these two games go the other way. Again, we looked sluggish, physically and mentally tired, and we've got to get through this stretch."
On how the team's struggles on the power play...
"There are a couple guys that are really struggling, and you need a couple key people to play well on power plays for them to work. Power plays are run from the blue line, and something good has to happen from there, and it didn't this weekend. They pressured high and we turned the puck over; they played well and did a real good job."
Nebraska-Omaha Head Coach Mike Kemp
On the importance of the sweep for his struggling team...
"This sweep on the road makes up for getting swept at home. Now hopefully we can make up for getting swept on the road next week."
Mueller, Chris. So. Forward
On Nebraska's play...
"They didn't turn the puck over a lot, they got the puck up ice and made us chase it and bring it back the other way, they did a good job of that."
On the team overall...
"It is defiantly a couple of steps backward. We were on a high, on a roll, were we wanted to be. We can't get down on ourselves. It's a wake up call for our team. We have to come in and work hard prove everybody that we can win a hockey game."
Lerg, Jeff Fr. Goaltender
On the overtime goal..
"It was a turn over behind the net quick play by there guy, Thomas found an opening and chipped it at the net right in the bottom corner. It was a good play by them just bad play by us."
On his game...
"I think I played ok, a tie and a lose, I am not really used to that. I am used to going out every game and fighting for a win."
McKenzie, Jim So. Forward
On team strategy...
"We have good starts we come out right away and we get a little relaxed and we think maybe the goals are going to just keep coming. We're just not working for them, it's gotta change. We gotta keep pouring it on teams and get them down one goal and take advantage of that deficit."
