Feb. 24, 2005 - East Lansing, Mich. - Breslin Center
Final Score: Michigan State 77, Wisconsin 64
+ Michigan State (20-4, 11-2 Big Ten) defeated Wisconsin, 77-64. The Spartans' victory is their sixth straight and 17th in 19 games. MSU now leads the all-time series against Wisconsin, 64-53. State's home record against the Badgers improves to 39-14.
+ The Spartans have placed themselves among the top teams in program history, becoming only the 14th team to win 20 or more games in a season. Under head coach Tom Izzo's leadership, six of the past eight squads have reached that milestone.
+ Alan Anderson led the Spartans in scoring with 28 points, a career high for the senior. Anderson's previous best was 18 points, which he posted on three occasions, the last being against UW-Green Bay (11/23/04). He reached double digits less than seven minutes into the game.
+ Alan Anderson's 28 points against Wisconsin mark a team-high effort for the team this season (Chris Hill, 26 vs. Ohio State). Anderson's 10 field goals are the most made by any Spartan in a game thus far in 2004-05. Anderson went seven-for-seven from the free-throw line, another Spartan high on the season. His teammates have posted six-for-six performances nine times this season.
+ Paul Davis scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. This also marks the third straight home game in which Davis has posted a double-double.
+ Alan Anderson's 10-for-10 shooting performance was the fourth best all-time for Spartans attempting 10 or more shots. Until tonight, no Spartan this season has gone perfect from the field when attempting more than three shots.
+ Paul Davis blocked two shots, tying a season high for the junior. Davis also posted a season-high performance with five offensive rebounds, tying the season-high for his team.
+ State continues to take care of the basketball, as the Spartans posted 10 turnovers - the third-lowest turnover figure for MSU this season.
+ The Spartans' .652 second-half field goal percentage tied their best outing in 31 halves, dating back to State's victory over Stanford (12/11/04). It marks MSU's second-best effort this season.
+ State's triumph over Wisconsin was its sixth straight conference victory. This ties State's longest Big Ten winning streak since the 2000-01 season.
+ The Spartans outrebounded the Badgers, 34-26, marking the 15th straight game in which MSU has grabbed more boards than its opponent. State is 19-2 when outrebounding its opponent this season.
+ Drew Neitzel started for the sixth straight game and the Spartans are 6-0 with the freshman starting at point guard.
+ Tom Izzo owns a career mark of 133-19 in the Breslin Center, including a 98-7 mark over the last seven seasons.
