McKnight Named To NWCA All-Academic Team

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior wrestler Darren McKnight as been named to the 2005 National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team as announced by the NWCA. The Hixon, Tenn., native boasts a 3.34 GPA in accounting.

McKnight, who served as a team captain for the 2004-05 season, is coming off a career year which included a fourth-place finish at the 2005 Big Ten Championships. The two-time NCAA qualifier finished the season with a 31-14 record, placing at the EMU Open, the MSU Open, the Midlands Championships and winning the tournament title at the North Carolina Open.

McKnight finished the season ranked No. 12 in most polls.
