Ryan Brehm Tied For 91st At NCAA Central Regional

CHARDON, Ohio - Sophomore men's golfer Ryan Brehm (Mount Pleasant, Mich.), competing as an individual, carded a 6-over 77 (41-36) in Thursday's first round of the NCAA Central Regional at the Sand Ridge Golf Club. The top 10 teams, and lowest two individuals not competing on an advancing team, will move on to the NCAA Championships at the Sunriver (Ore.) Resort's Crosswater Course on May 31-June 3. Brehm, who is tied for 91st, will tee off Friday morning at 8:53 a.m. on hole No. 1.
Northwestern's Chris Wilson leads the field after one round with a 4-under 67.
Brehm started his afternoon with a birdie on the par-4 10th hole, but then bogeyed the 11th and double-bogeyed the 12th and 13th. He rallied to birdie the par-5 14th, and closed the round making par on three of the last four holes, but still entered the back nine with a 5-over 41.
Brehm was 1-over with a 36 on the final nine, collecting one birdie, two bogeys and six pars.
