Spartan Softball To Honor 1976 National Championship Team

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State softball program will recognize the 30th anniversary of the 1976 National Championship team, as well as honoring all Spartan softball alumni with a full weekend of activities planned surrounding the regular season finale against Michigan, May 6-7. The event will begin Saturday with an 11 a.m. tailgate at Old College Field, followed by a pre-game ceremony set for 12:45 p.m. recognizing the 1976 championship team and all Spartan alumni in attendance. State will face Michigan at 1 p.m., followed by a post-game celebration at 3 p.m at Old College Field.
"We are very thrilled to have the alumni back to honor the 1976 National Championship team," Spartan head coach Jacquie Joseph said. "Our alumni are a source of great pride for our program and we appreciate everything they have done for MSU softball throughout the years."
The regular season finale is set for May 7 at 1 p.m. against the Wolverines, beginning with a 12:50 p.m. ceremony honoring the 2006 senior class. All Spartan alumni are invited to attend weekend festivities and are encouraged to visit msuspartans.com for further updates and information.
