Brehm Charges to Strong Finish At NCAA Central Regional

CHARDON, Ohio - - Sophomore Ryan Brehm (Mount Pleasant, Mich.), had his best day on record at the NCAA Central Regional Golf Championship on Saturday, carding a one-under 70 to finish at a 14-over 227 in the three-day event.
Brehm, competing as an individual, rallied for his impressive one-under on Sunday with five birdies and 14 holes of par or better. He entered the day tied for 112th in the 141-player field, and climbed into a tie for 75th in the final standings with his outstanding effort in the final day of competition. He finished with a final score of 227, shooting a 77 on Thursday and an 80 on Friday.
The sophomore opened his day on the tenth hole, achieved par on his first two holes, and bogeyed both the 12th and 13th. He crawled back in with a bogey on 16, and made the turn at one over. He proceeded to record birdies on three of the next four holes, attained par on the second and fifth, then bogeyed both the sixth and eighth before capping his day with a birdie on the ninth hole.
