Spartan Freshman Bianca Mejia Invited To USA Softball Junior Women's National Team Selection Camp

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Spartan freshman Bianca Mejia has been selected as one of 34 invitees to the 2006 Junior Women's National Team selection camp to be held September 15-18 in Chula Vista, Calif. The announcement came from USA Softball on Monday.
"What a great honor to be invited to the Junior National Team selection camp," Spartan head coach Jacquie Joseph said. "I am very happy for Bianca. She has worked extremely hard and is well-deserving of this opportunity."
The camp will be led by Mike Candrea (head coach at University of Arizona) and he will be assisted by Jay Miller (head coach at Mississippi State), Cheri Kempf (Owner of Club K), Suzy Brazney (head coach at Golden West College), Barbara Jordan (head coach at Cal-State Northridge), Mark Lumley (assistant coach at Baylor University) and Brian Kolze (head coach at Pacific University).
If selected, Mejia will compete with the team in November at the Pan Am Qualifier which will be used as a qualifier for the ISF Junior Women's World Championships in 2007.
