Spartan Bowl Preview - Justin Kershaw Interview (All-Access)
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Just eight business days after Michigan State accepted an invitation to play No. 14 Boston College in the Dec. 28 Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, Fla., the Spartan Ticket Office reports that nearly 9,000 tickets have been sold for the postseason game.
Michigan State received an allotment of 12,000 tickets, with all seats located in the lower and mezzanine levels on the west side of Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium (65,438 capacity). Those seating locations are comparable to lower-bowl seating in Spartan Stadium.
Tickets, priced at $60 each, remain on sale through the Spartan Ticket Office. Fans may order Champs Sports Bowl tickets online at msuspartans.com (click "tickets" and proceed to the Spartan Online Ticket Office) or by calling the Spartan Ticket Office (open weekdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.), locally at 355-1610 or outside the Lansing area at 1-800-GO-STATE.
Spartan fans who are unable to attend the bowl game in person are encouraged to consider purchasing tickets from MSU's allotment through the "Bowl For Kids" account. For each $60 seat purchased through this account, the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation will distribute two tickets to charitable organizations in Greater Orlando. Fans who wish to participate in the "Bowl For Kids" program should use the account number 30000 when purchasing tickets by phone. The account number represents the Athletics Department's long-term goal of having 30,000 Spartan fans in attendance at bowl games.
Thus far, the Spartan Ticket Office reports that more than 50 tickets have been purchased through the "Bowl For Kids" program.
Michigan State is making its 18th postseason bowl appearance - its first since a 17-3 loss to Nebraska in the 2003 Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
