Coming off a historic victory over Indiana on Sunday, the Michigan State men's soccer team is wasting little time in getting back to business as it hosts No. 14 UIC on Wednesday (Oct. 15) at DeMartin Stadium at 3 p.m. MSU defeated perennial power Indiana, 2-0, last weekend for just the second time since 1965.
"We have tremendous respect for UIC," said MSU head coach Joe Baum. "They've played a very difficult schedule. I've seen them play a couple of times and they are probably one of the most skillful teams we will play all year."
UIC enters Wednesday's match 8-1-4 and ranked No. 14 in the country in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll. MSU is 6-5 and has won five of its last seven matches.
Wednesday's match with the Flames was originally scheduled for Sept. 14 but was cancelled and rescheduled due to poor field conditions from a weekend of rain.
