EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Spartan Ticket Office is now accepting online requests and payments for football student-season admissions at www.msuspartans.com. Student-season admissions are priced at $148 and include the official 2009 student-section T-shirt. The price for student-season admission remains the same for the fifth consecutive year.
Student seating will continue to be assigned by section on a first-come basis, and students are encouraged to arrive and enter the stadium with the people that they intend to sit with during the game. The student section includes the southeast corner of the lower bowl (all seats in Sections 10-14 and the east side of Section 15) and parts of the east side upper deck (the south side of Section 110 and all seats in Sections 111-112).
The student section was expanded prior to the 2008 season to accommodate the increased demand for admissions and provide a contiguous seat blocks. For the 2009 season, the 300-member Spartan Marching Band will move to the area between the aisles in Sections 14-15. It's the same seating location the band occupied for the 2008 home finale against Purdue. The relocation of the band results in more sideline seats being available for MSU students.
Third-year Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and his team will tackle a demanding seven-game home schedule in 2009, including non-conference games against Montana State (Sept. 5), Central Michigan (Sept. 12) and Western Michigan (Nov. 7), plus Big Ten contests against Michigan (Oct. 3), Northwestern (Oct. 17), Iowa (Oct. 24) and Penn State (Nov. 21). The 2009 home schedule features five opponents that participated in postseason bowl games last season: Central Michigan (Motor City), Western Michigan (Texas), Northwestern (Alamo), Iowa (Outback) and Penn State (Rose).
In 2008, the Spartan Ticket Office reported 13,782 student-season admissions sold - the highest student sales total since 1989 (14,147). It marked the sixth straight year that the Spartan Ticket Office reported an increase in student-season admissions.
