EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer head coach Damon Rensing has added goalkeeper Bryce Dobbins (Auburn Hills, Mich.) to his inaugural recruiting class. Dobbins, who will graduate from Avondale High School this spring, will join the Spartans this fall.
"Bryce has both the athleticism and composure that we look for in a goalkeeper," said Rensing. "He will round out a very good core of goalkeepers currently at MSU. Bryce epitomizes the word student-athlete, since he excels both in the classroom and on the field."
Dobbins is a four-time league scholar-athlete and holds the Avondale record for both career and season shutouts. He is a two-time all-state honoree and three-time all-league and all-district selection. Dobbins, who is currently a member of the '91 Vardar club, joins Kevin Cope (Plymouth, Mich./Salem), Ryan Thelen (Mason, Mich./Mason) and Nick Wilson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) who will also arrive on campus this fall.
