For the second-straight week, sophomore running back Edwin Baker eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark, gaining a career-best 183 yards on just 15 carries...his career-long 80-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter gave MSU a 27-7 lead..Baker recorded his first career 100-yard rushing game in the 2010 season opener against Western Michigan, picking up 117 yards on 17 attempts.
Michigan State recorded is second-straight 200-yard rushing game, gaining 225 yards on 30 carries...in its 38-14 season-opening victory over Western Michigan, the Spartans rushed 37 times for 297 yards...MSU had only one 200-yard rushing game during the entire 2009 season (219 yards vs. Western Michigan in Game 10)...with two rushing touchdowns against Florida Atlantic, MSU's ground game has produced six scores...in 2009, the Spartans didn't record its sixth rushing TD until Game 5 against Michigan.
Junior Keshawn Martin accounted for over 200 all-purpose yards for the fourth time in his career, generating 204 all-purpose yards on nine touches (averaging 22.7 yards per touch)...Martin returned four kickoffs for 89 yards and three punts for 62 yards...he also had two catches for 53 yards...his 47-yard punt return set up Le'Veon Bell's 9-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Sophomore placekicker Dan Conroy scored a career-high 12 points against Florida Atlantic, hitting all three field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries...Conroy converted field goals from 44, 41 and a career-long 50 yards against the Owls.
Greg Jones recorded 11 tackles, good for his 19th career double-figure tackle game...Jones also forced his second fumble of the 2010 season...he has now led the team in tackles in 25 of the last 28 games.
Eric Gordon recorded his fifth career double-figure tackle game with 11 against the Owls.
Detroit native Chris Norman recorded a career-high 10 tackles.
Colin Neely recorded a career-high three tackles for loss (16 yards).
Marcus Hyde recorded the first two pass break-ups of his career...Hyde also had an interception last week against Western Michigan...Trenton Robinson tied his career high with two pass break-ups.
