
Women's Golf Continues Action at NCAA Fall Preview

BRYAN, Texas - The Michigan State women's golf team completed second-round action at the NCAA Fall Preview Tuesday at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
The Spartans carded a team score of 300 (+12) on the day, and after two rounds are in 14th place with a total of 599 (299-300). The 18-team NCAA Fall Preview, which is held at the site of the 2011 NCAA Championships, features 14 programs that participated in the 2010 NCAA Championships.
True freshman Christine Meier led the Spartans on day two with a 1-over 73. Meier was consistent all day, collecting 15 pars and a birdie against just two bogeys. Her two-round score of 151 (78-73) is tied with teammate Michelle Bowles, who shot an 80 Tuesday after leading the team with a 71 in the opening round.
Caroline Powers enters the final round tied for 34th place overall, tops on the leaderboard for the Spartans. Powers was also consistent throughout her round, tallying 16 pars and two bogeys for a 2-over 74. Through 36 holes, Powers is at 4-over 178 (74-74).
Aimee Neff is in a tie for 69th place with a 153 (76-77), while Lindsey Solberg is tied for 74th at 156 (80-76).
