EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Spartan Ticket Office is currently accepting online renewals from Michigan State football season-ticket holders as well as new season-ticket requests at www.msuspartans.com. In the last six weeks, the Spartan Ticket Office has received new orders for 2,000-plus football season tickets. MSU officials anticipate record season-ticket sales for the upcoming 2012 season, possibly eliminating the option for fans to purchase individual game tickets.
Season tickets are priced at $308 for the general public ($44 per game), $252 for faculty/staff ($36 per game; limit of two seats), $210 for recent graduates ($30 per game; limit of two seats; graduated within last two years and first-time buyer) and $164 for MSU undergraduate students (less than $25 per game; on sale April 7). For access to the online renewal form, click here. Specific seat locations may require an additional Scholarship Seating gift, ranging from $25 to $600 per ticket.
Season-ticket holders that complete the online renewal form and pay by E-Check save the $15 processing fee. In addition, season-ticket holders that complete the online renewal form and pay by credit card save $5 off the processing fee.
In advance of the May 1 deadline, renewal forms will be mailed in April to season-ticket holders that do not complete the online form.
Sixth-year Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and his team will tackle a demanding seven-game home schedule in 2012, including non-conference games against Boise State (Aug. 31), Notre Dame (Sept. 15) and Eastern Michigan (Sept. 22), plus Big Ten contests against Ohio State (Sept. 29), Iowa (Oct. 13/Homecoming), Nebraska (Nov. 3) and Northwestern (Nov. 17).
Dantonio welcomes back 17 starters from last year's team that won the Big Ten Legends Division title, tied the school single-season record with 11 wins and finished No. 10 in the final USA TODAY Poll. Michigan State has won 14-consecutive games in Spartan Stadium - its longest home streak since winning 19 straight from 1950-53 (teams coached by Clarence "Biggie" Munn) and the fourth-longest active streak in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (LSU - 17; Wisconsin - 16; Northern Illinois - 15; MSU - 14).
"Following back-to-back 11-win seasons, expectations remain high for the upcoming 2012 season," MSU Athletics Director Mark Hollis said. "With a home schedule that features six bowl teams from last season, including Boise State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Iowa and Nebraska, we anticipate season-ticket sales will exceed 60,000. There's definitely a buzz surrounding the Spartan football program, as evidenced by all of the new orders for season tickets."
Michigan State has ranked among the NCAA's Top 25 in football attendance each of the last 56 years, including No. 20 in 2011, averaging 74,078 fans per game. The Spartans ranked No. 18 in the NCAA in total attendance, as 518,545 fans went through the turnstiles for seven home games in 2011.
